The Council of the City of Eddyville met in special session on Thursday,
January 5, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Johnston presiding.
Council Members present: John R. Johnson, Lance Johnston, Jim Durst,
Larry Harding, Dwight Lobberecht.
Council Members absent: None.
Also present were several citizens.
After a discussion on the police reserves, Johnson introduced Resolution
2006-002, and moved its adoption, a resolution to rescind Chapter 31 in
the Eddyville Code of Ordinance entitled “Reserve Peace Officers”
seconded by Durst. AYE: L. Johnston, Durst, Harding, Lobberecht,
Johnson. NAY: 0. Resolution passed.
The cell phones were discussed; clerk will check to see if all phones
can be combined for less cost but still have enough minutes.
Chief Andrews stated the lights and siren where not on his private
vehicle and he will put them upstairs in the evidence room.
Car inspections will stay the same for now.
Putting up stop signs at 9th St. and Walnut St. or just making 9th St. a
dead end going north was turned over to the street committee for the
next regular meeting.
