The City of Eddyville met in regular session on
Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall, Mayor Johnston
presiding.
Council member present: John R. Johnson, Larry Harding, Dwight
Lobberecht.
Council member absent: Lance Johnston, Jim Durst.
Harding moved, seconded by Lobberecht to approve the agenda as presented. AYE: 3. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Lobberecht, moved, seconded by Harding to approve the consent agenda consisting of minutes of meeting in Nov. 2007 and bills for November payable in December 2007. AYE: 3. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Johnson moved, seconded by Harding to approve the liquor license and Sunday Sales for Ford’s Pub and Grill subject to Dram Shop certification. AYE: 3. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Johnson moved, seconded by Harding to approve the recommendation of the Mayor and to table approving an engineering firm for Berdan Street improvement at this time. AYE: 3. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
After a discussion on moving Houser into the Utility Superintendents job, Johnson moved, seconded by Lobberecht to place an ad in the Ottumwa Courier the last week in December to take applications until the end of January for a street man position. AYE: 3. NAY: 0. Motion carried
Council approved the agreement for the live traps which includes a $50.00 deposit.
Chief Van Toorn will meet with attorney about Pit Bull and Vicious animals’ ordinance.
Lobberecht thinks curbs need to be cleaned again, need to look into a regular schedule.
The Council would like the Mayor to meet with the person wanting to put up a sign at the bottom of Berdan St. and get their plans and specs before Council can approve anything.
Clerk informed the Council the Little League had received a grant of $1000.00 from Alliant Energy.
