The Council of the City of Eddyville met in regular session on
Monday, June 4, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall, Mayor Johnston
presiding.
Council members present: Lance Johnston, Jim Durst, Larry Harding,
Dwight Lobberecht.
Council members absent: John R. Johnson.
Durst moved, seconded by Harding to approve the agenda as presented.
AYE: 4. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Lobberecht moved, seconded by Harding to approve consent agenda
consisting of minutes of meeting in May and bills for May payable in
June 2007. AYE: 4. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Johnston moved, seconded by Harding to approve an outdoor service area
for Ford’s Pub and Grill if all paper work is correct. AYE: 4. NAY: 0.
Motion carried.
Lobberecht moved, seconded by Durst to approve the cigarette permit for
Casey’s General Store. AYE: 4. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Lobberecht moved, seconded by Durst to approve the cigarette permit for
Elliott Oil Co.
AYE: 4. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Lobberecht moved, seconded by Durst to approve the cigarette permit for
Eddyville Market. AYE: 4. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Harding introduced Resolution 2007-06-010 and moved its adoption, a
resolution approving pay increases of 3.6% for the three full time
employees, as approved in the 07-08 budget, starting in July 2007,
seconded by Durst. AYE: 4. NAY: 0. Resolution passed. AYE: Johnston,
Durst, Harding, Lobberecht. NAY: 0. Resolution passed.
Harding moved, seconded by Lobberecht to approve the appointment of
Randy Veldhuizen and Ron Richards to the Wapello County Local Emergency
Planning Committee (LEPC). AYE: 4. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Durst moved, seconded by Lobberecht to approve Larry Harding attending a
grant writing workshop at Indian Hills for $149.00 for two days. AYE: 4.
NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Weed ordinance tabled.
Johnston moved, seconded by Harding to approve the basic plans and specs
for the streets projects. AYE: 4. NAY: 0 Motion carried.
Johnston moved, seconded by Harding to have a completion date of Sept.
24th that will be no more than 90 days. AYE: 4. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Harding introduced Resolution 2007-06-011 a resolution and moved its
adoption, a resolution setting a public hearing for June 25, 2007 at
5:00 p.m. in City Hall to open bid for the street projects, seconded by
Durst. AYE: Durst, Harding, Lobberecht, Johnston. NAY: 0. Resolution
passed.
Council stated they had several good comments about the cemetery for
Memorial Day.
Durst moved, seconded by Harding to discontinue the commercial sewer and
water charges at the Blackburn garage property since there has not been
a business there since the last owners. AYE: 4. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Harding moved, seconded by Johnston to haul some mulch to the Frog Pond
playground area. AYE: 4. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Mayor stated the having the brush pile locked has helped to keep other
items out, and he has not received too many calls.
