The Council of the City of Eddyville met in regular session on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in city council chambers, Mayor Johnston presiding.
Council members present: Doug Greenlee, John Simmers, Jim Durst, Wendell Terrell, and Dwight Lobberecht.
Council members absent: None.
Durst moved, seconded by Simmers to approve the agenda as presented. AYE: 5. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Greenlee moved, seconded by Lobberecht to approve the consent agenda consisting of minutes of meeting in December and bills for December payable in January 2010. AYE: 5. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Lobberecht introduced Resolution 2010-001 and moved its adoption, a resolution to approve the appointment of Mickey Solano as City Clerk, seconded by Terrell. AYE: Greenlee, Simmers, Durst, Terrell, Lobberecht. NAY: 0. Resolution passed.
Simmers introduced Resolution 2010-002 and moved its adoption, a resolution to approve the appointment of Life Law Office as city attorney, seconded by Durst. AYE: Simmers, Durst, Terrell, Lobberecht, Greenlee. NAY: 0. Resolution passed.

Terrell introduced Resolution 2010-009 and moved its adoption, a resolution to approve the contract with IDED for the Sewer, lagoons, lift Stations grant, seconded by Greenlee. AYE: Terrell, Lobberecht, Greenlee, Simmers, Durst. NAY: 0. Resolution passed.
There were several citizens present to represent the Eddyfest Committee. Gary Hynick was the spoke person, he informed the council and Mayor of their intentions to just bring a celebration back to the city. It will be held Sept. 10, 11, some of the contest they wish to have is volleyball games, carnival, beer tent at Ford’s, softball games, parade to name a few they are still in the planning stage and will keep the council informed as to what is going on.
Lobberecht introduced Resolution 2010-10 and moved its adoption, a resolution to set a Public Hearing for Feb 1, 2010 to amend the Library ordinance to reflect the changes from the election, changing terms from 6 years to 4 and the number of members from 9 to 7, seconded by Terrell. AYE: Greenlee, Simmers, Durst, Terrell, Lobberecht. NAY: 0. Resolution passed.
Mike Grim the Library board president reviewed their budget with the council, they are asking $21,700.00 from the council the same as last year.
Lobberecht discussed the North lift station was out over Christmas and needs repairs not just a band aid.
The park was discussed and it needs some serious work done to it also, will wait for nice weather and see want can be done.
