The Council of the City of Eddyville met in regular session on May 3, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall, Mayor Johnston presiding.
Council members present: Doug Greenlee, John Simmers, Jim Durst, Wendell Terrell, Dwight Lobberecht.
Council members absent: None.
The Mayor announced this to be the time and place set for a public hearing on amending the 09/10 budget. There being no written or oral objections Lobberecht moved, seconded by Durst to close the hearing at 7:03 p.m. AYE: 5. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
The Mayor announced this to be the time and place set for a public hearing on disposal of 220-222 Walnut St. buildings. There being no written or oral objections Durst moved, seconded by Simmers to close the hearing at 7:05 p.m. AYE: 5. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Lobberecht moved, seconded by Durst to approve the agenda as presented. AYE: 5. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Terrell moved, seconded by Greenlee to approve the consent agenda consisting of minutes of meetings in April and bills for April payable in May. AYE: 5. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Lobberecht introduced Resolution 2010-21 and moved its adoption, a resolution to approve amending budget year 09/10 as presented, seconded by Simmers. AYE: Greenlee, Simmers, Durst, Terrell, Lobberecht. NAY: 0. Resolution passed.
After a discussion on disposal of 220-222 Walnut St. Terrell moved, seconded by Durst to table any action until details can be worked out and have an agreement in writing. AYE: 5. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Terrell moved, seconded by Simmers to instruct the clerk to put notice on back gate of 203 Walnut St. and to send repair or demolition notice to current owner. AYE: 5. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Lobberecht moved, seconded by Terrell to approve a beer permit for Eddyville Market. AYE: 5. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Simmers moved, seconded by Terrell to table Animal Control contract. AYE: 5. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Lobberecht introduced Resolution 2010-22 and moved its adoption, a resolution to support the formations of a Local Housing Trust Fund, seconded by Simmers. AYE: Simmers, Durst, Terrell, Lobberecht, Greenlee. NAY: 0. Resolution passed.
Lobberecht moved, seconded by Durst to approve a cigarette permit for Elliott Oil Co. AYE: 5. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Greenlee moved, seconded by Terrell to approve the changed as presented to the Employee Handbook as of July 1, 2010. AYE: 5. NAY: 0. Motion carried.
Durst moved, seconded by Terrell to have clean up days on June 7 if possible. AYE: Durst, Terrell, Simmers. NAY: Greenlee, Lobberecht. Motion carried.
Lobberecht will check into repairs for the park.
